Holt Brothers to host football camp | Events
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) - The Holt Foundation, founded by NFL Brothers Torry and Terrence Holt to improve the quality of life for children and families dealing with cancer, is excited to announce its Annual Football Camp and 7 on 7 Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26.
Youth football players and high school teams from North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia, including eight high school varsity teams throughout the Triad, will visit the Holt’s high school alma mater, Eastern Guilford High School in Gibsonville, N.C., to learn tips from the NFL greats and coaches from local high schools and colleges.
“We are thankful to have this opportunity to share with young players what we have learned, both on and off the field, while also increasing awareness for the Holt Foundation and its cause,” said Torry Holt. “This camp is close to our hearts and we are excited about its future as more and more teams become involved each year.”
The camp kicks off Saturday with the Annual 7 on 7 Football Tournament, created to give varsity high school teams a competitive day of play. From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Twelve teams will participate in both a pool play and a knockout tournament to build team camaraderie and receive tips to help develop deeper passing, catching and coverage skills. The public is invited to come out and cheer on the teams as well as meet Torry and Terrence. On Sunday, campers will continue their skills training and learn about sportsmanship, hard work and teamwork. After another full day of football, campers receive a Camp Gym Sack filled with items for their upcoming season.
“It’s a natural fit for us to give back to our community, fans and young players with a football camp and tournament,” said Terrence Holt. “What better way to join us in our efforts than by coming out to watch high-energy, competitive football?”
The Holt Brothers Football Camp and 7 on 7 Tournament is open to the public at no cost and everyone is encouraged to attend. Space is still available for Sunday’s camp and is free for participating players. For more information, please visit www.HoltFoundation.com .
