Questions To Ask Before Spending Money To Join A Gym

   It's probably the most popular resolutions of the new year, losing weight. For many in order to keep that resolution, it means joining a gym, but if you’re working to shed some pounds at a local workout facility, the Better Business Bureau recommends asking ten questions before signing on the dotted line and handing over the cash.

    Just in 2009, the BBB received 7,787 complaints about gyms and health clubs. That number put the industry in the top 20 for most complained about businesses. Not only does the BBB receive a lot of complaints about gyms, but complaints increased by 21 percent in 2009 over the previous year.

      Gas prices are expected to hit $3 a gallon by Christmas and with that in mind, many of us want to make sure we get what we pay for. The N.C. Department of Agriculture says don't worry, they are watching out for those trying to keep drivers from getting what they pay for. Complaints about pumps are on the rise.

       State officials say the 24 inspectors with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services inspecting gas pumps statewide are paying close attention. “Complaints about gas pumps have been on the increase in recent weeks,” said Jerry Butler, who oversees the NCDA&CS Standards Division’s gas pump inspection program. “Normally this time of year we get few complaints, but with the rising prices, we have had more calls.”

North State Communications Scam

North State Communications is warning customers about an e-mail requesting confirmation of e-mail addresses and passwords. The company says the e-mail is fradulent and should be ignored and deleted.  North State is reminding customers never share your e-mail password with anyone.
